As a new semester & academic year starts from September, we very warmly welcome our new lab members. Rongting starts her new life in Hong Kong as our first PhD student, and is stretching statistical machine learning into cancer genomics. As a joint PhD student, Weizhong is broadening our interests in phylogenetics. Jerry and Julia join us through their final year projects by tasting biomedical research from computational view. Their joining excites us a lot, particularly in this difficult year.
During the summer, we had the chance to host three bright biomedical interns on a few fun projects: Kevin on modelling the mutations on SARS-CoV-2 genome, Mona on analysing splicing fidelity and alternative, and Jerry on studying B cell receptor repertoire in a network way. We say goodbye to them and hope they will keep enjoying science in future.
