We are excited to see the further expansion of our lab by welcoming Ruiyan and Chen C as our newest lab members in the new semester.

Ruiyan is trained in biology in Shanxi Normal Univ and CAS Institute of Zoology, and gradually found her interest in leveraging computational skills to tickle biological challenges at a large scale. In her PhD study, she has a focus on the analysis of cell heterogeneity on alternative splicing between cell states or disease conditions.

Chen C is trained in biology at Zhejiang Univ and has good exposure to statistical modelling. As an MPhil student, he is currently working on predicting CRISPR editing outcomes from sequences as a machine learning task.

Now, we are expanding towards the size of a start-up lab with members all having strong interests in biomedical data science and from mixed backgrounds and skill sets: biological knowledge and interpretation, statistical modelling, software development, applied data science, etc. We learn from and support each other, and we believe the interdisciplinary team does better interdisciplinary research!
